Northwest Training Vision

The leadership training philosophy of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide adult leaders with fundamental information about the aims and purposes of the movement, as well as specifics about their particular role in Scouting. Adult leaders in Scouting need certain basic information in order to bring a quality program to Scouts. This information is needed as soon as possible after a leadership position is assumed. To that end, training in Scouting is divided into four levels: Orientation/Fast Start Training, Basic Training, Supplemental Training, and Advanced Training.

Online Training Changes and What You Need to Know

Online training has been updated. Log into the my.scouting.org website. In the upper left hand drop-down menu, select "My Dashboard". This will take you to your training. Under the YPT tab you can check to see if your youth protection training is up to date and when it expires. Under the "Requirements" tab you can see what training is needed for your position. Under the "Completions" tab you can see what courses you have completed. And finally, under the  "Training Center" you will be able to access all available online training.

Cub Scout training has been updated to fit the program updates. You will now be able to take training in small, bite-sized modules, rather than sitting on your computer for a full session. It also now breaks down what training is needed before your first meeting, during the first 30 days in your position, and the final training to be considered trained in your position.

You must link your member ID number to your online account for your training to show up automatically in our records! You need to log into myscouting.scouting.org in order to do this. For instructions, please check out this document:
