General Camping

Our camps had a great 2015 summer and we are busy planning for 2016. What feedback (positive or areas for improvement) do you have that I can share with the planners?

Cub Scout Camping Announcements

  • Get signed up for Polar Cubs Day Camp.  It is a day experience offering tubing, snow games, broom ball, Scout skills, “no snow” sledding options, dog sledding on select weekends for Webelos and more. Happening all weekends in January and February, it is the perfect opportunity for Cubs to have winter fun outdoors.  Sign up at www.goscouting.org
    • New for 2016: Ice Cream Making, LEGOs, Tomahawk Throwing 
  • Blue & Gold Placemats available for pick up.

Boy Scout Camping Announcements

  • Winter Camp 
    • Spots still available at Snow Base and North Wind. Full payment at registration. Call for last minute changes to attendance. 
  • Summer Camp 
    • Summer Camp Leader’s Orientation: March 5th at Base Camp 
    • Summer Camp reservations are open for 2017. Units can reserve their same campsite during their same week from January 1 until May 1. After May 5 reservations are open on a first come first serve basis.  Go to www.manypoint.org & www.camptomahawk.org to check availability.  
    •  Save the date: June 3‐5 Tomahawk and Many Point Work Parties 
    • Save the date: April 1: MP & TSR High Adventure Registrations Open

High Adventure

  • The 2017 Council Philmont Contingent will be July 1-13, 2017 and is estimated at $1,475 per person. Registration will be available in March 2016. 
  • The 2017 Council Sea Base Contingent will be March 18-25, 2017. Contact jnutter@nsbsa.org for further information.

Northern Star Council Cub Camping

Northern Star Council is the premier Cub Scout Council in delivering the outdoor program to youth ages 5 - 11 for the purpose of developing self-confidence, leadership, citizenship as well as an understanding and appreciation of the outdoors. The Northern Star Council offers both staffed and pack led programs at eight camp properties encompassing over 10,000 acres in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

GoScouting.org

GoScouting.org is your first stop for everything Cub Scout camping in Northern Star Council. You can register for camps, downloaded necessary documents, manage rosters and pay camping fees. You can also see up-to-the-minute reservations and availability for all open program sessions.

Summer Time Camping

The Northern Star Council delivers nationally recognized, staffed summer programs at four of our flagship camps: Phillippo Scout Reservation, Kiwanis Scout Camp, Stearns Scout Camp and Tomahawk Scout Reservation.

Fall Camping

Cub Camp Blast Off is a fall day camp offered at several locations throughout the Council. Cubs experience all that fall has to offer as they are guided by our experienced staff. This activity is great for new Cubs who join in the summer or fall.

Winter Camping

Winter activities are some of the most popular activities our council has to offer. Polar Cubs is a winter day camp offered at Phillippo Scout Reservation, Rum River Scout Camp and Stearns Scout Camp. Cubs experience all that winter has to offer as they are guided by our experienced staff.
