Klondike Derby

Date: Saturday, January 28th, 2017
Time: Registration starts at 8:45 -- Event starts at 9:00
Location: Fred C. Andersen - Upper Area
Entry Fee: $15 per Scout, $7 per adult

Test Your Mettle! Show Your Skills! Brave the Elements! Demonstrate Your Character!   Arrrrg! The Klondike Derby be a fun winter sled race, driven by Scouts and powered by Scouts! It’s a one-day event of Scouting fun that is a mixture of competitive spirit and outdoor fellowship. 

It is recommended that each Scout Patrol make and bring a Klondike Derby sled. Plastic sleds/toboggans can be used for the station portion of the event. However, to participate in the race at the end of the event, the Scout Patrol must have a built Klondike Derby sled.  (Numerous easy-to-build and cool sled plans are available online)   Patrols can contain up to 8 Scouts each. Parrots are optional! And don’t forget to bring a Patrol Cheer!

Remember -- This is an outdoor event! Please dress for the expected weather!   Scouts must be prepared to stay out in the cold weather all day. A dry change of mittens or gloves is highly recommended for everyone who plans to attend.   

A warm lunch will be provided, and is included in the cost of the event.
