SCOUTER AWARDS

A District is only as good as it's volunteers.  They are the backbone of Scouting and the key to a better future for hundreds of youth.  This page contains information on awards presented to these Scouters.

Silver Beaver Award            

This award is presented at the Council level to Scouters who have rendered noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth.  Candidates, without their knowledge, are nominated by fellow Scouters.  Northwest District recipients are recognized at the annual Council Court of Recognition Dinner.

District Award of Merit          

This award is presented at the District level to Scouters who have rendered noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth.  Candidates, without their knowledge, are nominated by fellow Scouters.  No more than three Northwest District Scouters per year may receive this award, the highest individual recognition at the District level.

Scouter of the Year

In 1972 the District Award of Merit replaced an Award called the Scouter of the Year.  The following people received this award between 1950 and 1971.

Charter Partner Award

The Charter Partner Award recognizes a religious, civic or educational group that charters a Scouting unit in Northwest District.  Nominated by a Scouter, the award is presented to a Partner who provides noteworthy service to youth and demonstrates strong support of leadership and programs for their unit(s).

Eagle Scouts

The Eagle Scout represents the best in Scouting. This award must be earned prior to a Scout's 18th birthday and requires years of work, service, leadership and participation. An Eagle Scout is an Eagle for life.
