Eagle Scout Project Information

Life rank Scouts must design and implement a project that demonstrates planning and leadership as one of the requirements for Eagle rank.  The Northwest District Advancement Committee has written up the process to be followed to help Life Scouts understand the process.  Click here for the Northwest District Leadership Project Approval Process. (98KB)  In addition to this the Northern Star Council Advancement Committee has drawn up a planning guide to help Life Scouts know what is needed for the project and the plan including tips.  Click here for the Northern Star Council Eagle Scout Service Project Planning Guide. (124KB)  Northwest District has also created a checklist that Eagle Project coaches and troop leaders should use for the steps leading to the approval and start of a Scout's Leadership Project.  Click here for the Northwest District Leadership Project Review Checklist. As you plan and carry out your leadership service project, use the Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project Workbook to record your plans and progress.  The workbook may be downloaded in either of the following formats:

There can be up to three areas on a Scout's Eagle Leadership Project where a table is required to list various items needed for the project.  The Northwest District Advancement Board has created several of these tables that you may take an use to put this information in your Leadership Service Project Workbook.

District Award of Excellence (for Units)

Each year Northwest District requests input from Packs and Troops on various aspects of their unit operations.  The Chairs of the District operating committees then evaluate these inputs and determine the top three units in each of the operating areas.  These units are awarded a District Award of excellence at the annual District Dinner (4/24/08 - see Activities page for more information on the District Dinner and a sign-up form).  These should be turned in by March 13th at the District Roundtable or by FAX on March 14th to the East Council office.  We will accept these beyond the deadline if you e-mail them to Mary Lillemo.
