Northwest District is part of the Northern Star Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Northwest District is comprised of the communities of Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville, Shoreview, and the western panhandle of Maplewood.

The Twin Cities Scout Shop, located in Mounds View off Highway 10, has begun holding a series of Webelos Adventure Nights. This is an event for individual Webelos or dens to attend to work on requirements that fulfill both the new adventure pin requirements and the old activity pin requirements. The next Webelos Adventure Night will be:

Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is a signature fundraising event of the American Diabetes Association

General Mills Campus, Golden Valley, MN

7 am – noon

1 and 3 mile routes

Opportunity 1

We are seeking medical volunteers to help at two of our rest stops.  We will provide a first aid kit and glucose tabs.  We would like the medical volunteers to help with basic first aid, but be able to call 911 if needed.  We will have two medical professionals on site at the events start/finish area on General Mills Campus. 

Opportunity 2

The event seeks other volunteers to help with area such as – handing out t-shirts, cleaning up trash and emptying garbage cans, finish line support (cheering, clapping, ringing noise makers), route support (standing at key turns and directing walkers in the right direction) (map and info provided), greeters, event cleanup/take down.  We have a website that volunteers can sign up for the positions/times that work best for them: http://vols.pt/LbY824
